people really need to support this by tuning in

it's free live pro pool, what we've always begged for

Help!

Does anyone know what the URL is of the SOPCAST server?

I'd like to try this on LINUX, and I need to specify the URL to the client. I tried to get this working
back in May, but I gave up after a few hours.

I want to try again! This would be cool to watch, and it seems I have about 6 hours to try to get it
to work before it starts. Thanks for any help. I will be using the "sp-sc" client (and mplayer to view).

Has anyone managed to connect to either SOPCAST or TVU? I tried Sopcast first but I am getting the message that the channel is offline. On the TVU on the other hand, it is saying that the signal is excellent but I am not able to connect to the live stream.

giving up for now

I'm giving up for now. I believe I found the correct URLs, but I can't get the client to stay running on LINUX.

I even tried booting up my old Windows (98 SE) partition, but sopcast won't run, and TVU requires
Windows Media player 10 minimum, but that needs XP at least. :(

I'm glad you posted that you were not able to connect via sopcast, as it gives me (a little) hope
that perhaps there is a problem on their end, and I will ultimately be able to connect on LINUX.

PLEASE post if anyone is able to connect to sopcast and view these matches! Thanks!

Same here...

I think the problem is on their end because while I am not able to connect to the STAR SPORTS channel on both TVU and SOPCAST, I can watch the other channels live.

Hope they fix it soon because I want to watch the Lee Van Corteza vs Chao match that is scheduled to air live at 7 am US eastern time.

Anyway, this is the link to the latest results. Only the top player in each group will advance to the quarterfinals tomorrow. So far, Chang Jung Lin of TPW who has performed so well in the previous legs has lost both his games and is now out. The Filipinos appear to be doing well and have won all their games so far. CS Yang has hurdled both his assignments and is the first player proceeding to the quarterfinals tomorrow. All 4 games should be seen live starting at 11 pm US est tonight.

Also, here is the link to find out what time it is supposed to show in your area:

So far, we have Yang Ching-Shun (Group A), Wu Chia-Ching (Group D), Ronnie
Alcano (Group F), Chan Keng Kwang (Group H) advancing thru the next round.

It will be losers go home for Li He Wen or Roberto Gomez (Group B), Fu Jian Bo
or Jeffrey De Luna (Group C), and Chao Fong-Pang or Lee Vann Corteza
(Group E). Group G could end up with all 3 players ending up with a 1-1 win-
loss record if Ibrahim Amir beats Le Quang Trung of Vietnam...

It is currently 4 all now for Corteza vs Chao on the TV table.

Did you get in (TVU/Sopcast)? Or are you just like me (Matchroom Sports Forum)? :D
BTW, it's now 5-4 in favor of Chao!

matchroom forum only. Hope that we are able to connect to TVU for the quarterfinals.

Great match between Chao & Corteza, with both making some incredible shots & almost no unforced errors.
Corteza was leading 4-1 at one stage.
But his soft (and dry!) break cost him dearly.
From the 6th rack on, it's one-sided.

For live broadcast, seems like none of the usual p2p tv programs worked.
But you can try Uusee, it's working fine.:D
Check it out on:

Wow, I would have loved to have seen Alex Pagulayan competing in it!

I was in attendance in Shanghai today and there was some great pool played.

Tomorrows feature quarter final match will be at 6:30am EDT with Chao vs Alcano. Both looked good today.

Wu Cha Qing and Yang Shing Chun look awful strong too. I've watched both of them practice the last two nights and they are like machines.

Ronnie Alcano is shooting lights out against Chao Fong-Pang, leading 6 games to 1!
Sopcast is working good right now!

Ronnie's on the hill at 8-3 and breaking. It's all over but the shouting folks...
