Isnt that the white stuff some people put on Christmas trees???
Walking through the park yesterday I saw 2 dogs that were...
Oops... wrong word... the 2 dogs were frolicking not flocking.

My friend had a dog named Gully. I think he named that dog after Gomer Pyle.
The dog would never leave legs alone. I think Gully was a flocker.. or a Cocker.

What is flocking? I really don't know.
I would describe it as a spray on felt. It is a spray on fuzzy material. I would not suggest it be used on the ball returns. I can not say for sure but it believe it would probably slow the ball returns to the point that the balls would be constantly hanging up. If you decide to try it, I would test to make sure that you can remove it if it does cause problems. JMHO.
If you have a textured AKA "popcorn" ceiling then you have a "Flocked" ceiling.
Simply put, any fibrous material attached to a substrate to create a texture is flocking. Usually Flocking is done by spraying the substrate with a malleable material to create the texture.
When you buy a Christmas tree with the white coating that makes it look like the branches are covered in snow, it is considered a "Flocked" tree
