I know I seen a thread on this and even asked before but my search turned up nothing. Maybe I am losing my mind. :D Anyway where is handsdown the best place to buy a gun drill for .758 or there abouts

I've gotten both of mine off ebay, but you have to spend every waking moment looking for them, they don't come up that often in the sizes we use.

I have a Drill Master Gun drill .6875 diameter - 18 inches long with air port. 5/8 diameter tailstock with flat - Air hole straight out rear of drill. Used one time - Sell for $140 shipped to US.

I got mine from Sterling Gun Drills as well. I think they were around $125 apiece and took only a couple of weeks to come in.

Tell them it's for cues.

I believe Drill Master changed their name to Serling a couple years ago. These are the most widely used gun drills I know of. Several machine shops in my area use them. I believe you do want to special order for a cue like Joey said. I think it is a different grind angle.

good luck, jimbo.

Need something with a side airport for use in my deluxe
Call Sterling Gun Drills and make sure you get 1/2" shank as they normally come with larger shank. Your cost will be around $175 shipped. It will be drilled and tapped for you to install your quick disconnect fitting.

Thanks Chris for the info
Just ordered a .758 and a .630 total was right at $315 for the 2
Sterling Gun Drills seem easy to work with and its obvious many cue builders use them. They knew exactly what I needed. They said it would be 2-3 weeks for build time. Not too bad I guess...

I will call them back and get the .633 thanks for the heads up i was pretty sure about the .758 but not too sure about the .630

At .630 drill, you might want to cut down your dowel down to .622".
The usual .625 holed rings will be loose.
Of course you can sneak in a strip of masking tape in there too but someone might find out. :D

I have always used linen with epoxy............tape is too sticky!~!
Linen's too slippery for me. Kinda expensive too.
I'll try used dental floss.:D
