Match

I’ll contribute a T-shirt from the Anchorage Billiard Palace to the winner. Anyone else want to pony up with a T-shirt from their local pool hall? Might be cool for the winner to get t-shirts from the 4 corners of AZ land.

Willie - I don't think it would wise of me to play strightpool with anyone named WILLIE. I only played 2 or 3 games of strightpool in my life and that was when I was 18 or so. I know it is a wonderful game but it is only played on the east coast where the poolroom porters and rack boys can run 100 balls. They usually play for the time. If we can't play 9 ball or one pocket (the 2 most accepted games), how about 8 ball? As far as where to play, I will let you pick. The Break in Cahokia, IL is where I play and it is VERY safe. There has been many, many K games there and there has never been ANY trouble. A local cop is a player and there for big games. I have been there for most of the big games (never played) - but there is usually a lot bigger action going on than what we are talking about.
Some previous post have "Hit The Nail On The Head". I used to play pretty well but that was 25 years ago. I now just try to be competitive and struggle to play even with the kids. ego - "OldHasBeen"
What is the best place to play in Indy? The place with the best equip., etc. I can make it a business trip with just a few days notice. I will run an ad in the paper and interview sales reps.
For $500 sets, I really don't care that much about all the details - Lets just "Do It"! If you beat me, you won't be the first.

I'd like to see you guys play in the STL area so's I could come and sweat the action...lol. Also, I wouldn't mind meeting some fellow AZers! I wasn't able to meet up with OHB when I was there for my lessons with Mark due to the snow that was on the way. If this happens in STL I will definitely be there!

Break out the Kewpie Doll, I think we have a winner!! Seems like there's been a quick retreat by one of the gunslingers. Either that or he's in the saloon drinking with the boys and playing cards.
Hey, I got the ball rolling...some of you other guys need to pitch in and prod the action along if you want a little excitement. Let's go.....! Woof it up!!

Timeing Is Always Very Important !!!

Maybe the reason Willie is slow to respond to my acceptance of his challenge is because of the timing. Try as I may, I can't seem to get ANY interest in playing pool ANYWHERE, before 10pm.

I run my business from 5:30am until about 2pm daily, 6 days a week, so I get up about 5am. It always befuddles me why all pool players must play very late into the night instead of during the day. I guess they all have very important board meetings to attend or maybe they have appointments with their investment bankers.

But if it will help Willie to "Get Off The Dime" and play this match, I am willing to play at anytime he decides.

I think this "Noon Gunfight Thingy" is what is turning Willie off.

Maybe this thread should be changed to "The Midnight Matchup"
