one of the guys thats remodeling my garage/apartment asked me yesterday afternoon if i wanted to play some 8-ball. he said he had brought his sneaky pete with him. so i said ok, and we played some 8-ball for about 15 minutes.

he really wasnt very good, i made a couple of really good shots, one that really impressed him. we played three racks, i won all three. no big deal, i could have beat him with blindfolded with my hands tied.

nice to get some competition though - if you could call it that? but i could have told him i was busy............:eek:

okay okay... lemme get this straight... the guy is hired to remodel a house and he pulls out a sneaky pete and goes, "hey, you wanna play some?" i would have been pissed.
 
Sounds like very little competition. When I play I like to be pushed. I like knowing that if I miss I might not get another shot for a long time. If i go into a game with someone I know I can wipe the carpet with I tend to play down to there level a bit. I look for the most challenging game I can find. Some time you are better off practicing alone. Just my 2 cents.
 
Always good to get a little playing time in. You didn't know he was bad. Heck, he had his own stick.
 
Good job DCP, Keep up the positive posts! Keep finding some people to play with and I think your posts may change a bit. Good luck with your room and your game!

I need practice, practice, practice, practice, practice,

What make and size table was this match played on? Is the table in the room/garage that is being remodeled? Can we see some pictures of the remodel work? I would like to play some if interested, but I could only take that kind of beating for say like 10 minutes at the most unless the table is nice and you let me win some games.

Let me get this straight, you can't make a straight in ball and draw your cueball back for shape on the next ball, but you are talking about how easy it was to beat someone else?

LOL Actionhound.

He doesn't break cues, he comes here and cries, and I wouldn't be surprised that if he ever gets into bed with the girl who calls him at 3am he will talk about missing shots then too.

Maybe.....but more likely he will post an interactive diagram asking......"how would you best get from position (A) here (by the bedroom door), fully clothed, to position (B) here (undressesd and in the bed), without letting her see a less than impressive set of tackle?"

Several posters with a glittering array of notches on their bedposts will give sound advice on technique, none of which he will follow, as he thinks it's pointless...........cos he's so unlucky that no matter what he does his balls always end up out of position:)
