Haley #069

I have a cue I bought from a friend about 10 years ago -- it's been sitting in it's case since. It's signed Haley #069 '97 and has a matching jump stick also signed and numbered the same. (There is a separate piece for the main cue and the jump cue but they are interchangable)

They were clearly used, the main cue has some ... what I can only describe as finish cracking. Like there is some sort of acrylic coating on it that spider-webbed lightly.

Both cues are tight and roll level.

I guess what I'd like to know is about how much they're worth now and if I would need to get the finish on the main cue redone before selling?

I google'd haley cue and this forum came up - so if I'm in the wrong spot let me know please.

I don't see the signature on the jump stick but recall being told it was part of a set. I'm going to try to contact Ron Haley to confirm this is correct and find out what it would take (cost/time) to get the cues refinished. The wraps are still tight - but I think it shows really well the spidering in the pictures.

The black cue in the picture I know nothing about - has a clove logo with an M in it - the person I bought it from said they used the black cue to break with and the Haley's for play/jump shots. Looking up Mr. Haley - seems he lives a few miles from me so I guess that is convenient. Heh.

I appreciate all the PM's - I do plan to sell these, though I am not sure if I will get them refinished first or not. I guess a lot of that depends on what the cost and time involved will be. (IE I wouldn't sell them if I didn't need the money)

Okay, here's an update:

I spoke with Mr. Haley about the cue.

Some details I learned about the finish - he said back then he experimented with using laquer for the finish - and that he thought this was the only cue that he had done that with - and that is why the finish cracks/spider-webs.

I also confirmed that he did make the jump stick and Mr. Haley said he would also sign the jump stick while he was refinishing them.

A neat detail I learned, also, is that Mr. Haley actually used this as his playing cue for some time.

I am going to take the cue to Mr. Haley and have it refinished and then will list it for sale. I appreciate all the information and feedback I have received from everyone here and will be sure to return the PM's and list the cue in the for sale forum here when I receive it back from Mr. Haley (which he estimated would take about a month).

Thanks

wow!!

wow somebody got a steal imo. it sold on ebay for 1550. If i remember he wanted over double to begin with. Also you get a rare jump in the bunch. If i had the money i would have bought it. Just didnt have the funds soon enough. Somebody should be happy to get a awesome haley player imo!! Hope to see this cue again one day.
