Half ball hits on the 10ball spotshot?

Seems there still is a half ball hit method to pocket the lower spotted 10 ball.
Agree or diagree?
 
Not sure what you mean there, the spot shot is hit in the same spot to make it, how you line up on the shot depends on from where you prefer to shoot it. If you get a repeatable stroke and alignment it's a no brainer with some practice. If you shoot near the center it's less than a half ball hit but that is not the ideal way to aim it.

In these Predator 10 ball tournaments the spotshot is done with the 10 ball where it sits in the rack not on the footspot.

I assume you mean from the kitchen with the 10 ball 2 1/4" farther away than the foot spot. Of course that small a difference can still be made with a half ball hit from the kitchen, but that's not true for any added distance. I haven't calculated how far past the foot spot the object ball can be and still be made with a spot shot from the kitchen, but your example is pretty clear.

It's actually about 3 3/4" farther back, from the spot to the center of where the 10 ball sits when racked. Even so, by placing the cue ball on the head string and moving it to where the edge is 1/2" off the rail it is an easy 1/2 ball hit to make in the corner.

Maybe easy for you. Easy for me? Nope. :(
 
I wonder though, how do they spot the 10 at that position in those tournaments, with a template? I don't play or even watch 10 ball. I also don't know why they wouldn't just spot on the spot.

on my GC 1 the center of the 10 ball is about 4 inches from the center of the spot
with the cue ball near the side rail it looks like a half ball hit to me

Yeah Larry, when I tried it against the rail was a little bit overcut and the width of a piece of chalk was a touch thick, so a half inch worked out well. I have one of those red label diamond professional firewood tables though so,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
