Hampton Ridge East Rutherford - Anyone...?

In a word, YES! And I think it will be a great tune-up for the Big Apple which will occur the next week, August 11th through 14th. :p

A little birdie named Danielle PM'd me and said Danny "Kid Delicious" Basavich will be in the house. Being that he only lives an hour away is kind of convenient. ;)

I just received a phone call today informing me that Francisco Bustamante and Santos are planning on attending.

There are MANY players on the East Coast now gearing up for the tournament trail. There is a major event every week and weekend until the U.S. Open. So, if you're a rolling stone kind of guy, you're in for a great 2 months up ahead.

The regulars on this tour are growing in number. The players want to get those points for a year-end opportunity to get a free entry fee into an Allen Hopkins event. :)

The $2,500-added Hampton Ridge event, by the way, is at Castle Billiards, 347 Route 17 South, East Rutherford, New Jersey 07073; phone number (201) 933-6007. It begins sharp at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 6th. The Hampton Ridge Tour sometimes will have a Calcutta auction. New York City's Frankie Hernandez always gets the blind bind. However, this weekend there will be some new faces in the crowd (LOL)! :D

Entry fee is $70 for amateurs and $100 for "pros." For additional information, call Jose the tournament director at (267) 257-8006.

Looking forward to reading all about it. I'm stuck at home due to work commitments. Otherwise, I'd most definitely be there. It is going to be interesting to see how this one unfolds and who shows up!

Hi JAM, thanks for that very useful. I called today and was told that it starts at miday and the club opens at 10 for practice which sounds about right. Only a short ride from NYC Im told so after busting my ass to get here from Asia I might as well go. It will be good to see Danny again and I suspect Mike D might go too?

Anyway providing an unfortunate accident with the JD and coke or a fortunate incodent with a lady I will be there tomorrow, I need the practice! (pool of course ;-)

I haven't been there since Richie Sacco sold the place. Let me know how the room looks! Scott's a pretty damn good cook, so you won't go hungry!

You'll have a blast, TheOne! :)

I'm not sure about Mike Davis. There's a Maryland State straight-pool tournament this weekend at Bill and Billie's in Arnold, MD, limited to 32 players. I know Ryan McCreesh is planning on attending. He really enjoys playing straight pool. Mike Davis is quite popular at Bill and Billie's. I did see him this past Tuesday at a local tournament, but I didn't get the chance to see which event he was attending this weekend. Knowing Mike, he will be at one of them. :D

Jose, the tournament director of the Hampton Ridge Tour, is also the tournament director for the Big Apple which begins the next week.

This weekend will be a great tune-up for you, The One! Danny Basavich has won the Hampton Ridge Tour two times in a row. However, he may have his hands full this weekend! :p

Thanks JAM, looking forward to it, especially with the likes of some of the players you mentioned going. BTW does anyone know if its far from the train station, I assume its just a short cab ride? Say hi to Mike if you see him before I do and hope to meet you and Kieth one of these days too, sure it won't be long! (are you going to Big Apple?)

I don't know if Castle Billiards is close to a train station, but I'm sure there's some veteran New York City posters here who will respond, hopefully sooner than later!

I sure do wish we could go to the Big Apple tournament, but we can't make it at this time. I heard from the TD Jose that as of this time, there are close to 90 players who are in as of this date, big names, international stars, and veterans: Earl Strickland, Johnny Archer, Niels Feijan, Efren Reyes, Tony Crosby, Thorstan Hohmann, George "Ginky" Sansouci, Danny "Kid Delicious" Basavich, and the new kid on the block, Craig Riley, just to name a few! ;)

Try to get a hold of Mike Zuglan and get that entry fee in for the $25,000-added Joss Season Finale. When the Big Apple ends on August 14th, the Turning Stone Casino event begins on the 18th. And have you heard about the Carolinas Open in Goldsboro, North Carolina? It's another one of those must-go tournaments. Believe me, there is nothing finer than a tournament in the Carolinas, and this one on September 8-11 will be no exception, $20,000 added, one-pocket and 9-ball tournaments and action 24/7. They know how to do it in the South! If you go, you'll see what I mean! :D

i don't know where the train station is, but castle is on rt.17 south, a mile or 2 coming off rt.3

Hi JAM thanks again for that, I want to play in the JOSS event and others, I have been aware like yourself for sometime about the next two months stacked pool comps. However I left Austrlia in Dec, 7 months ago and I probably

a) need to go home for a few weeks before I collapse
b) Be a little more selective about which comps I attend

However I am hoping to go to the following:

Weert Euro Tour
Weert 8 ball world Qualifiers
World Summit
US Open Planet Pool warm up
US Open

Thats 5 comps in about 16 days which represents great value. SO as much as I would like to stay and go to them all I might have to go back to the UK for a while and skip the JOSS etc. But if I cash this wek you never know! :-)

PS
Thanks for the directions but I don't have a car so I will be taking the train.

Jose, the tournament director of the Hampton Ridge Tour, is also the tournament director for the Big Apple which begins the next week.

Hi All,
I'm sure there will be a great field at the Hampton Ridge tourney. Everyone is in town for the up coming events. I will be playing as well.

The Joss event at Turning Stone will be a stacked field. I will be setting up a booth selling cues (Highendcues). Stop by and take a look... I will be playing as well... MY website will be completely redone in the next 2 weeks. Had to fire my MIA webmaster...
Best,
Ken

I talked to Mike D on the phone, and I know that he is planning on being there. It will be an exciting event!
