I have been wondering. What cues do the people in China play with.
Do they have brands familar to us in the USA. Or do they have brands of their own.
What about some of you guys in other parts of the world, Do you see production chineese cues that we have in the USA in your country. Do you ever see the same cues with either no logo or maybe a totally different logo.
One that I sell as a no logo comes to mind. It is an overlay cue with only the trim rings being inlay. I have seen this same cue sold with logo by other companys for much more money. Does a logo make their cue worth more or play better? I really don't think so.

Here are some excerpts from an old thread that I captured the picture of the Lucasi logoed #5 from.

Lucasi cue?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have the opportunity to purchase a Lucasi cue that I'm told is over 20 years old. I am incuding a couple pictures of this cue and am asking the group if anyone can give me some information about the model age and an estimate of its worth.

It will be hard
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Because, I think, about 10 years ago, Lucasi changed all the model numbers to a new numbering scheme, including older models. I am no expert, by any means, but the cue (from the pictures which weren't great) looks to be in the range from $400-$450.

Thanks for the prompt responses to my questions. I apologize for the quality of the pictures. I just snapped quick pics this morning to see if anyone could assist me. Shane, thanks for the phone number of Cue & Case. They were very helpful, but unable to find a catalog showing this exact cue. They did make a guess as to it possibly being made in 1998-1999 with a new value of approximately $300.

Mine are brand new. I want $80 delivered for #5 by itself. $250 delivered if you want the 4 cue set it comes from.:)

so are you saying that the same cue your selling as #5 is the same cue as the lucasi? Just without the logo? Or are they made by 2 different companies?

why no logo?

Yep, that is what I am getting at. Now Lucasi no longer has this cue. When they did have it yes I believe it was manufactured in the same factory that Palmer is getting it from. I understand Lucasi does now have their own factory. However from time to time I do see other crossover cues between Palmer and some of the other importers.
Basically, what I am getting at is most of the import companies don't actually have their own factories. They have cues made for them in pre-exsisting factories and have there logo affixed. Palmer has choosen not to bother with the Logo as it costs money, but actually adds nothing to the quality of the cue.;)

On to the Chow Mein!

On to the third variety of cues I offer, these I call The Hoppe/ Titlist series. They also are selected and imported by Palmer cues. They have the short white butt cap. The veneered points are tall and sharp. Yes, they are inlay veneer not decal. The shafts are real nice. They hit great. I play with one of these myself. They come 19 or 20oz. I have the weight bolt out of mine. It is 17 to 17.5. I have used it for over a year, almost everynight for at least a few games at the local pub. It has held up just fine. Oh, six other guys in the bar have them also. They all paid $80 a piece and thank me all the time. They retail for like $125.
I got a guy in Florida getting $150.
Go figure right there in Lucasiville. :p
The butt sleeves are all the same design.
There are 10 different forearms available.
Please PM email for individual pics if interested.
I have #3, 4, 5, 10 ready to go.
$80 for just one. Two for $150. All four would be $260. delivered USA:)
Larger quanities are also available. Please PM:cool:

The cues that you just reference are decal or what I perfer to call overlay. Some of the nicest I have seen. The ring work however is inlay.

The Hoppe/Titlist style cues that I just posted are inalay w/veneers
