Hello,

I have some zebra wood that I probably will not use and was wondering if it would make a good choice for a handle? It has been hanging for about seven years. Any input would be appreciated.

Core it the wood likes to split on the ends as its brittle. Ive made a lot of cues with it but never without coring it.....Dave

I got 1 from Dave and it hits sweet. It has moved a little, but nothing a refinish will not fix. I've had it for 2yrs now and will send it to Dave for refinish sometime next year.

Zebrawood handle

This is one I made a year or two ago. As long as the wood is seasoned it works fine for a handle.... and no it's not cored.

Zebra is one of the more unstable woods. You might get by with using it for handles, but why chance it? I am sure someone would gladly trade you maple handle stock for the Zebra wood.

You bet!
