Hard Times in Sacramento had the first of four $1,000 added first Sunday of the month 9 Ball tournaments on Sunday, May 4th. The $25 entry fee tournament drew 59 players in the double elimination format. Winners race to 6 and losers race to 4. First place was Trevor Smith ($700), recent winner of the Annual Jointed Cue Terry Stonier Memorial Tounament in March. Second was Austin Murphy ($455), Third was Robert Aldana ($320). The payout went to 25% of the field and Tournament Director Tom Juarez will be running three more weekends of these added $$ tournaments the first weekend of the month in June/July/August.
The first Saturday of the month one pocket tournament had 48 players and a $20 entry fee in a race to two double elimination format with $500 added. Winner was Billy palmer ($400), Second was Frank Nordmann ($240) and Third place went to Warren Costanza ($160). Both tournaments pay 25% of the field. I barely snuck in the $$ after one of Hard Times young guns, Patrick Rhea, knocked me into the losers bracket. John Henderson
