I'm thinking about making the trip for this event, does anybody have any suggestions on a hotel or motel in the area? Something decent, safe and not too far from Hard Times.

La Quinta Inn Sacramento North
4604 Madison Ave.
Sacramento, CA 95841-2515
This place is about a mile away and is a chain, so should be decent. Check the reviews if you have a favorite travel site. ($50)

Holiday Inn SACRAMENTO I-80 (NORTHEAST)
5321 DATE AVE
SACRAMENTO, CA 95841
Also very close but right on the freeway ($70)

Hard Times is about 15 miles from downtown Sacramento and there are tons of options around the downtown area and the Arden area along I-80, but most will be a bit more expensive than these. Further North on I-80 the cities of Roseville and Rocklin are about the same distance, both also have plenty of options.

PM me (or TomInCincy) if you need any more info or Sacramento advise.

Chuch's Memorial

I sure hope all that attend will have a great time respecting Chuck's contribution's to California Pool tournaments.

Just about all the best players in California know who Chuck is and what he's done for this great game.

I'll see ya there... we will have a great time.

Done Deal!

It's confirmed...I will be driving from Orange County and a friend will be joining me...we're looking forward to it. I've spoken with a few people from Hardtimes Bellflower and I believe there are more coming up for this event. I hope to see a full field.

Cya next weekend,

Question?

Is this tournament going to take everyone who wants in? Not sure if I would make it and it would be last minute so I just want to make sure if I show up the day of the tournament that I will still be let in? thanks, Nate.

Nate;

You will get in, no problem, as long as your there before 11:00 am Saturday morning. Look me up, I'll buy lunch. TD will point me out.

Mike

Sorry to say I can't make it. I have school, and all my road partners are in Manila or taking a sabbatical.

I sure will miss Chuck though.

We dedicated the Battle of LA in July to Chuck. All of the players and staff wore black ribbon patches in his honor/memory.

How many players expected?

Tom,

Do you have a list of players that have signed up or have let you know will attend? How many players do you expect?

Thanks!

There are 91 players, $3500.00 added and a bonus olivewood and cocobolo custom cue to the winner - Sorry to say I forget the maker.

Since there was more that 64 it is race to 7 on the winners, race to 5 on the 1-loss.

There are a ton of really strong California and western states players - Jeff Gregory, Billy Palmer, Ed Ames, George Michaels, ... plus the LA contingent and all the stong Sacramento Players.

The extra $20 I gave Tom didn't help my draw. I got trounced by Frank N. (7-3) and Billy Palmer (5-0). =)

The money matches are tomorrow and there are bound to be some great matchups.
