HAs any one heard of a "Thompson" custom

I have one. Maybe I received a bad one but the finish became all spotted and sticky. Joint pin has the tip ground off and squeaks when screwing together. Not sure what type of finish was used but the cue smells really bad. Seems to hit ok, but if I had the choice again, I would refrain from purchasing. At least it didn't cost very much.

This should be on Mr Thompsons business card........ Our cues STINK!!!! :D

I bought one of his sneakys years ago when he first started selling on E-bay. The fit and finish of the cue were sub-par but I figured what the hell I only bought for a break cue, well needless to say after 3 weeks the shaft split in 2 spots from the face of the joint up about an inch and a half, to the trash bin it went!

I have hsd three "Thompson" sneaky petes and I would rate the hit amd the overall finnish on the cue to be one of the best. Loved every one of them.

This was "Hank Thompson" out of Texas. WHo are you talking about?

Yes, I believe that is the one, but I did purchase mine on ebay. It was labeled as a reinforced sneaky. Sounds like yours was of better quality. I've never seen a cue so poorly finished as the one I purchased. I rarely play with it.

Well, like I said, I've had three, two were bought on ebay, and all three were very nice in all respects.

Sounds to me like the one you got had been messed with by someone who didn't know what they were doing.

Actually, I believe Hank was selling them on ebay. So it was not refinished by someone else. I must have received a bad one, I remember looking at his feedback and there wasn't any negative comments. Main reason I purchased it. But the cue I receive wasn't anything special.

yeah thats it..

Thats just like my cue.. I love the hit of it and it doesnt have a smell haha.. stinky cue.. =) How much did you pay for yours..?

it was the same for me. lousy finish on the cues. i owned two of them, straight from hank off ebay.
they hit fine, but the finish was not top notch. one of them even arrived at 57 inches when he claimed his cues were 58 inches.
luckily i only paid 80 bucks apiece, and resold them asap.
you may have gotten lucky with the 3 you bought, but thats not indicative of all of hanks cue, as you can read from this thread.
