Thinking about selling my sledge and getting an x-breaker but shelling out $350.00 + $35.00 shipping for a b/j is steep without at least hearing a few unbiased reviews. Thanks.

It is a brand new product-It was introduced at the World Pool Championships in July and then was on hold here in America until the Website could be put together. I dont think the distribution channels are in full swing yet so very few are in the hands of the Public. We may have to wait a little longer for some reviews.

I like what i read though and I have one budgeted for September.

Your probably right ns. Thanks for the reply. Look forward to that detailed analysis in september. :D

It would be nice ...

if Billiards Digest or Inside Pool would review
Break/Jump cues and rate them, like Car magazines
do with cars. That way you could get a good idea
of the top 3 or 5 in a category, especially for the
money.

IMO,

Since you have a sledgehammer already (a known good j/b), why would you consider spending another 300.00 or so for a different j/b? Do you really think there is another j/b out there that will make that MUCH of a difference in the level of play you are at?

Are you a pro needing some other edge? Too much money on your hands? or a Gear WHORE? Unless you absolutely need another cue, stick with what ya got man. Seems like 300 bucks could go into another cue/lessons/table or something. Wait 1 year and get it when it gets down around 200.00! You can get Sledgehammers for 179.00 if you look hard enough. Next year there will be another great j/b out, and I am sure the x-breaker will drop in price.

IMO

This would be a good thing for users, but new items get higher reviews usually before they know the value of the item, and reviews tend to be off due to it. Softball bats are a good example. Each year softball players spend tons of money on the HOTTEST bat available for their league. A review is posted right away, yet durability and breakin periods are not taken in account. I could see the same issues with cues.

Too bad Mike couldnt add it to this site. I like the format of: http://www.softballfans.com/reviews/

Why don't you get a couple of extra weight bolts for your Sledgehammer and try it from very heavy to extremely light and a couple more in between to see what works best. Then you'll have about 4-5 different Sledgehammers all for about $20 - $30 bucks.
