Has anyone made a one piece butt out of pernambuco?

Pernambuco is my favorite wood, and a one piece pernambuco butt is kind of my dream cue. Has anyone made one?

Will a 36" one work? ;)

I stumbled upon this piece on a well known wood dealer's site, and couldn't resist. It's old stock they had for 25+ years. I'm no expert, but it seems dry to me. Rings like a bell when I tap it.

I think you're better off making it a 2-piece butt.
A tight maple handle will be fine.
Nice looking cue btw. It sure looks familiar. One of the best hitting ones .

I have done a few out of other woods. I don't have a piece of the wood you are looking for so with that said it will be quite a long time to cut to ensure it stays straight.

(I know nothing when it comes to cue building.) When you core the butts, what materials do you use to fill the void. (if anything)?

Hello Sir
Define void please. My dowels go in pretty snug. My dowells also have a thread on them. I use West system epoxies. 105 Resin and depending on what I'm actually glueing. 205...206...207 hardners along with 403 and 404.

Ok. Now I understand. Sorry my bad.
Thanks for the explanation, Mike
