I havent been able to play pool as much these days...but when i do, it seems that my brain is functioning much better...
Anyone noticed this too??

I was playing everyday pretty much all summer. I have been busy the past two months and haven't really been able to practice. I noticed the past couple weeks when I have played, I have been playing much better. Maybe I have finally given my brain time to absorb some of that practice.

I think taking a small break every once in a while is good for you to take in what you have learned.

Definitely. If I take 2 or 3 days off after playing every day for awhile, my mind seems "fresher" or something. Hard to describe.

I meant to also say...that my mind seemed to work in other parts of my schedule after playing pool a little bit...

Played today for the first time in almost 2 months and I started out a bit slow but was hitting em pretty sporty.

Some guy Ive never seen before (new room for me) ask me to play some one-pocket. I was wathcing him play a bit earlier and I offered him 10-5 but I get the break. He said he was game for 10 a rack if I wanted it. Walked out 4 games later and $40 richer. I never play one-pocket and to beat a guy at his own game and spotting him 10-5???

Yeah I should take breaks from pool more often

I think you can be better only for a short while. because your brain after a few days of not playing isn't thinking about position, force, etc. but after a while you will find out you actually are the same or even worse than before. just my thoughts.
