I think Nostroke's story is sad, indeed.
I once played a blind guy for $100 and when he beat me, I handed him $1 and told him that it was a $100 bill.

For those with any doubts and hopefully that is no one by now, i was just being sarcastic. It just seemed so absurd- a thread title seeming to glorify rip off artists and asking them to step forward and describe their great work. Only in pool I guess.

Steve "The Miz" talked about this is one of his books. He was coming home from college and either ran out of gas or had a flat. We walked into a pool hall with no money and walked out with the cash.

I guess "posting up" was less common back then :)

I agree and I've been in dozens of fights over air barrels in the last 40 years. Oddly, the amount of injury, pain and blood is the same over $5 as it is for $100 and up. It didn't get me the money, though.

What a jerk this guy was- he didnt even come out to keep an eye on me and i just jumped into my car and drove away- I looked back and there he was finally outside with his hands in the air like WTF? Hehehe- I cant believe how stupid this guy was.

That was a good one- im real proud of that one.

this is true, This guy, Fontanini goes down the bar with me. Theres pool tables there. He has cash. He gives me a hundred to buy drinks for the night. So I get the beers. Theres a few of us. Then we shoot pool and he plays ok. After a few beers, he's confident he can be an allstar after winning some so he wants to play for five a game. I pull out the fifty and say lets play for that. Which is the change from buying the beers. Ok. Another game. I'm up a hundred. Then a hundred and fifty. Double or nothing. Three hundred.
Its good to have friends as I walked in the bar with next to nothing.
Thats nothing, then we leave he gives my filipino buddy six hundred to go out and have a good time.
Some people want to impress with money even when theyre not drunk and you have to be there for them imo
Not really an airbarrel but something for nothing.
So me and my filipino friend go to a nice restaurant then to a spa and massage where I buy silk pyjamas and we taxi back to the hotel :cool:
But the funny thing was on the way to the restaurant, Litor the filipino gives me the six hundred as he figures Fontanini is my best friend not his. Then when ordering plates of shrimp and this and that, tells me he's broke and is so happy when I give him three hundred.
I pay for the rest of the night, return to my hotel room cashless and he keeps his three hundred for um, future living expenses. I don't know who was the smarter.
