Have you had this problem with a cue case?

This is a problem I have had with more than one hard cue case, and that is when I put my butts in joint down and the shafts in tip first, many times they fit too tight or don't go in far enough to get the lid closed. The piece of foam in the lid with the circular cut-outs that are SUPPOSED to fit over the cues rarely do. I usually end up removing the foam and taking a pair of scissors to it and cut out the middle portion so that the only foam left is circling the edge of the lid. I am going to try getting some softer foam rubber and shaping it (one solid piece) to fit inside the lid. I figure that the foam will contour itself to the butt caps and joint protectors and hold the cues in firmly. Anybody else had this problem and tried this solution???

I had that same problem too, so I bought an Instroke case.

In all seriousness the best thing to do is cut the foam larger or refabricate and entirely new foam piece for your lid. In case anyone is interested I have a nearly new case like these for sale.

Good fitting Cue Cases ...

I have tried several different styles of Cases over the years and keep coming back to the Individual Hard Tube Cases where the Butts and Shafts can be inserted in either direction ( Justis, Whitten, German Instroke, etc.) ... Be certain to buy a Case with tubes long enough to accept your Cue Butts and Shafts without putting them into a "bind" ... These Cases are more expensive than the run-of-the-mill Case, but well worth the money and most will last you a lifetime, if taken care of properly ...

add Swift and Murnak for sure but I agree completely. Spend the money, Get a good one to start. Look for more than you need too. Get the extra length, larger pockets. You'll wind up using them
