Have You Played Short Rack 9 Ball?

True but if you don't try it, you'll never know.
And if it doesn't work then it doesn't.
Recently I held two events at a room in the Springs; the guy who won it played again, his first match he played a gal, lost 7-0, that never happens in pool, and Moneymaker wasn't supposed to win either at TX Hold'm but he did, why?
A game that offers chance to win for a weaker player, that's all, and seven ball was a pure pipe dream sold to a business man, via a pool player.
What you don't know, when it gets to the finals, it's a player group/like poker, not heads up, has a breaking/shooting order.
It forces pool players to interact/talk which they NEVER do in match play, and they play for the entire pot.

WTF???? You just invented it like a week ago so how the fk could i have played it? And comparing it to HoldEm is ridiculous. In HoldEm there is an 'illusion of luck', go play a while with good players and get back to me. You'll be flat BUSTED. Much like this pool game, the better players will win most of the time. A sucker will look at it and think he's got a chance. Yeah right. Dream on.
I started began this in 2005 in Denver/6 ball (too tough) and then did other versions till I realized this rack structure doesn't allow wing balls to be pocketed.
But the 9 is ALWAYS moving on the break, and you know as well as I that, some good bar players can break the balls VERY good, as good as the pros.
If it doesn't go well, so be it, but until you tried 7 ball you never thought you'd like it.

Zar you've made me look at rethinking my apex rack, I'll still call it Short Rack 9 ball but I'll try this soon.
Rack em the same.... then put the Four ball below the 9 inline with the one ball, that way the 9 ball is trapped.
Thx, I've always not liked 7 ball that much but your thoughts might of helped, I just hate 600 Fargos never winning events with 700's there.

i almost always just gambled at 6 ball. nothing goes on the break so one player doesn't have some big break advantage.
games go much faster and all players believe that they can get out so think the game gives them a chance.

any new game or game that gives the impression a player that isnt the big favorite can run out, is more tempting than one where onlt one of the two can run out as in 9 ball.

but if only looking to play for a dollar or so you can invent new games to get bad players to try them.
