And I would swear I saw Paul Sorvino ("Goodfellas") walking around the DCC another year.

That's true. I met him there and we talked a bit. I think I even have his phone number. A very nice guy. Paul Sorvino (a decent player) and David Brenner (the comic) were both big pool fans.

I went to the 88 Open and saw Varner, Sigel, Miz, Hall, Lebron, Strickland, Howard etc...Afterwards, it felt like I saw celebrities. The Miz was bigger than life.
