So talking last night a friend said "do you know what i would like to see, someone slip on a pool ball. I wonder if that has ever happened"

Now here is what he meant. We have all seen someone go running after a pool ball and use there foot to stop the ball, sometimes by stepping on it, so have you seen it happen or perhaps you can mention some things that you have seen.

My little brother did. We used to play soccer growing up so we have the tendency of stopping/picking things up with our feet. So he tried to step on it to stop the cueball from rolling. He slipped, and ended up doing a split in the floor lol

We should make this a general cueball injury post LOL

I've only had close calls, once a guy broke at a table next to me, and the cueball lifted off and skipped across my table just as I was about to break. I've had some cueballs hit my feet/shins but nothing that really hurt or left a bruise.

I can't really think of anyone really hurt in front of me in all my years of playing.

I haven't seen anyone step on a cue ball yet. The worst cue ball related injury I ever saw was a girl going after a cue ball that was rolling on the floor. She tripped and slammed her face into the rail of the table that the CB was rolling under. She lost most of her front teeth and broke her jaw. IT WAS UGLY.

But in the end she made out like a bandit from the pool halls insurance, I can still hear that bone crunching face plant. :yikes:

I can picture being behind someone in a race to 10 and they go running after a ball and trap it with their foot and slip, and as they're slipping I'm wishing they either die or are knocked out - anything to get out of the match. What if the opponent winds up unconscious and goes to the hospital. What then? Would the match be continued another time? I say no to that if I'm behind, perhaps yes to that if I'm ahead. But if I'm behind and I think I'm going to lose and my opponent is facing a situation where the only thing to save me from paying him is him dying, then, sorry, I'm rooting for him to die. Or just be hospitalized, as long as it results in the game being declared officially over.

Lone star, do you ever offer a constructive comment? Stick to the NPR section, because I've never seen you offer anything that's pool related.
