Having trouble focussing?

I disagree with your view on focus.
The ONLY time you need the intensity playing pool that was displayed by
this marvelous woman....is when you're pulling the trigger.

The players that try to get there and stay there in that zone....
...become the bugs in the pool hall that make everyone uncomfortable.
You can't live in that rarified atmosphere, you can only visit.

Feel free.

In pool there is absolutely nothing forcing you to focus on doing anything. You have to motivate and execute the entire process, consciously yourself. If you fail there are few to sometime no clear clues as to what happened.

In what she is doing you are absolutely forced to focus on every detail whether you choose to or not, there's no choice, the entire process is mandated by it....or you don't get past the second stick and it's quite obvious why. :)

I went and watched this for a second time.

This is the most astonishing display of focus I have ever seen.

Man, tuning out everything and concentrating precisely is whats its all about.

You all that have been in the zone shooting pool know what I'm talking about.

Taking the feather off of the first stick and watching the whole thing fall down was just remarkable.

Hats off to that lady

I would like to comment on the above.

In any undertaking a conscious thought is made as to the the end result.

After the end result is imagined then it is only a matter of letting the subconscious do its job.

The conscious mind works from logic and reason, the subconscious mind works based on imagery and reason.

I have been in matches that I didn't even know that I had won until the fellow I was playing said to me......"you won ........good match"

Its like being in a trance.

Focus is everything. The better you get unfortunately means little when you play players of a similar standard all the way up. I work hard on mental preparation, does me no good though!! LOL.
