I co-run tournaments in England and my overriding opinion is that pool players are creatures of habit. Here they want x2 elim or round robin. Tinker with the format and we lose participants. Mr Havoc gets this part right at least. In the UK our players also expect prize money. While I'll always wish nothing but success for any new promotion, looking to offer quality events and push this fine game, I have to question this gentleman's decision in requiring players to "level-up" 3 times en route to playing in a cash tournament. That said, the low figured capped entry comps that offer tier promotion could work well in clubs and bars enforcing social distancing.

Good luck to Havoc. There's some good ideas in there. Time will tell if this succeeds.
 
For the life of me, I can’t understand why anyone would choose to pay to play in these, rather than simply entering any of the tournaments that actually offer a cash payout for pretty much the same level of competition and performance.

Maybe I’m missing something, but it strikes me as silly.
 
Talked with a few Long time players from Pueblo CO yesterday, and they said the numbers, similar to the way the payouts for the APA are, are not what they appear. Look into it well before you jump into the pond.
And It's quite ironic, that Matt H made his/her first post saying something positive about this format. Hummmmmmmmmmmm.

I didn't think my first post would be under such scrutiny. I can absolutely assure you my intentions were to provide an opinion on the link you brought to our attention.

I really can't be arsed to create phoney accounts in order to big-up the next "big thing", if that is indeed what you're implying. I genuinely wish havoc well and maybe one day we'll all be able to sit back and watch their comps unfold from the comfort of our respective sofas. However, I think their structure will need some work before that day comes.

I live 4,500 miles from this guy's contact address, and have never flown to the States, let alone met the fella. Nor have I opened an account to blow smoke up Havoc's backside.

Now, maybe I should go and edit my praise of Daniel Jones, made on a New York Giants forum, before you accuse me of being a Jets fan too.

Thx for asking, nothing has happened yet...........But I got ph call from Australia last mth.

WPA board is meeting this mth to consider it.
Ian Anderson called me (we are long time friends, since Konisgwinter Germany @ Worlds, where I put in place ferrule length maximum if metal) and during my BCA employee days).
He and I talked in length (over 50 minutes) just last mth because he has interest, but he must bring it before the WPA board to vote on it.
If the board doesn't want to purchase this domain, I've already set in place my plan that I already created in 2005-6.
Also, during those yrs, I got seed money from Diamond to test my event in Denver BUT.
My divorce occurred during that time period. It caused me to raise my daughters properly, as they were way more important than the latter.
Just had my 4 grandchild born in Manhattan Beach 4 mths ago, she's a pistol already.

The WPT worldpokertour and WBT worldbilliardtour domain names send a clear message.
