Heard from Terry A-sort of.. any updates on puter?

I got a voice message from Terry tonight. I didn't get it in time to call him back before it was to late but from the message he sounds good. Best part about it, he just called to talk pool. Atta Boy!!!!!! He mentioned he will be in bed for weeks and weeks and said he is missing AZ. Any updates on the getting him the laptop. If not, I am ready to send him mine for the time being. I have to mail him out a package anyhow. Or did I miss a thread?

I got to thinking about infant death with electronics, most die in thirty days or less if they are going to die, and decided to rope Brandie in to buy the machine locally in case it died she could just haul it back to the store instead of having to ship it off. I sent the check to Terry instead of buying a computer and shipping it to him. That may cause a delay of a few weeks. My bad, when I talked to Brandie she sounded like she was going to grab one right away, Terry sounds like he wants to go to the store with her and he isn't able to right now. :( :o :sorry:

With hindsight I wish I would have just bought a machine and shipped it to him but this option seemed smarter at the time. I'm trying to persuade Terry to buy a computer and let a local Geek Squad guy bring it out and set it up, probably along with a wireless router. Plenty of money to cover it all. I don't want to make our gift a burden on Terry though so I don't push too hard.

Please don't quote this and I'll edit it in a day or so after interested parties see it and before Terry can. He is still a long ways from getting down to the basement where his PC is at but I don't want him to feel bad about something he has no control over later. He is truly overwhelmed by what the forum members have done and feels like there is no way to adequately thank everyone. Last thing I would want is him thinking he had let any of us down.

Late breaking idea, I think Terry is just sitting on the check. If so I could still order the machine and router and have it drop shipped to him and he can just tear up that check and I'll send him one for the left over funds. Feel him out on that idea tomorrow please.
