heat stamp for logo

Yes Dave. I believe Woodcraft or Rockler has them. They have both manual and electric. Just can't remember which company I seen it at. But it is one of the 2. You design it, they make it type deal.
Hope this rambling helped.

does anyone know a company that makes a heat stamp or tool to press a logo into the cue?
Dave,
Drop the 'custom cues' in my avatar and the KJ that you see is done with a burn-die that I made. I put my name on a burl background and fill the recess left from the burn-die with gold-leaf. I like the contrast. The charred burl, the gold-leaf. Mama. You'll have to see it in person.

Depending on how elaborate you want to get you may be able to make what you want. That's half the fun & pride in cue making. Custom can get expensive but then what isn't? My die cost about $2. minus the soldering iron as the heat source. I welded a 1/4 x 28 nut on the back of the die to attach it to the iron. A couple of modified letter stamps and you've got it. Or I could make you one 'almost' just like it; $100. LOL

I believe Sears had something like that a few years ago. Or Penneys. I think it was Sears. It cost about $200 -$300 to have it done, but they did a really good job on signatures and stuff. That was maybe about 4 years ago. It might be worth checking into, though.

Dave when i read this i just had to write you you don't want to do this first off you would have to do the burn after the cue was tapered and one mistake you would have to start over its hard to work these irons years ago i used one to burn the Brianna name on my wooden racks even after doing thousands of these i still made made mistakes irons are for branding cattle not cues i have seen this and it is awful looking in wood let alone trying to due delrin.now heres my suggestion find someone locally that does engraving say a trophy shop or jewelry store pay five or six dollars and do it right after its engraved take a small amount of epoxy with black powder furniture dye mix about the size of a pencil eraser wipe it in the engraved part next day light sand with 1500 then 2500 and lightly buff the delrin waw la done this how the big boys do it but please not the god awful branding iron another thing you could engrave the weight bolt i can do that and so can prather you could also use a chrome weight bolt and have it laser engraved something fancy DS and a logo this would cost maybe 12.00 to 15.00 i have a friend that has a setup he can do laser on the whole cue he has a 4th axis fixture say you do cue with ivory inlays he can put the cue in the fixture and do Fancy scrimshaw this would $150.00to $300.00 depending on how fancy not sure if he could the delrin i could ask him you could even laser the tip of the pin that could be done before the pin is set you would never have to send the cue out this way just a few suggestions call me this week we can talk more..lee

I gotta plug Lee Valley Tools, one of the greatest companies to deal with imo. Here is a link :

http://www.leevalley.com/wood/page.aspx?c=2&p=32191&cat=1,43456,43462

Do a search on "branding" for a few other products that may be suitable.

Lee Valley Tools is a first class outfit in every way, and I recommend them as a mail-order supplier without reservation .... of course I just drive over to their local store :p
