Has anyone ever used a waterbed heater to heat a bar box? Results before I try it.

I think one 60 watt bulb would do the trick...and much cheaper.
...just leave it on all night under the table.

Im just trying to warm it up and have a waterbed heater laying around. My table is on a unheated uninsulated garage.

My table is in my garage, and I bought an electric heater. It cost me around $500 and had an electrician put in circuit to get it going.

Go ahead and do it! JUST DO IT!!!!!

My heater has a thermostat on the back of it, and a small dial. It keeps my garage nice and toasty during the winter.

Just scratch out the check and, DO IT!

Go onto the web and find the electric heater.

What good is heating your table if it's too cold to play when you're in the garage?

Sounds like it will be more then 500. He said UNinsulated. Without insulation he would just be pissing into the wind. Could always wait till spring! Lol

I guess I should have said has anyone ever heated a bar box to increase speed and help control table moisture. Thanks for all the smart ass comments. Im always up for a good laugh.

I have an old Valley in an identical situation, Detached unheated, uninsulated garage.
I just plug in a small space heater, similar to this:

I try to plug up all the holes and in a day or two the garage is up to about 60, and when I go out to play, if I need to while I'm in the garage I add this

Boy, the crap we put up with just to play this freakin' game sometimes...
But it is time away from the wife and daughter, and on a weekend if I'm getting the 'stink face' and I sense that I need to, I'll move the smoker in and make a turkey or some ribs or something, it can turn into a nice winter day or a great snow day away from work.

I built a pool table in shop class my senior year of high school. My mom had bought an old house for $60 on a vacant farm place that my brother was renting. (the outhouse sold for $65) It was lived in up to the time of the auction, so was in fair shape. The kitchen was huge, which inspired me to tackle this big project. The only heat was an old cob burning stove which took a long time to heat the room. We would play in the middle of the winter with insulated coveralls and yellow gloves. The summer time was much better conditions other than having to walk through honeybees swarming around the front door.

We had a couple years of playing around on the particle board table before it was scrapped by a friend. One of the later nights there, a few friends and (mostly) I finished off the remaining quart and a half of homemade peppermint schnaaps. I don't remember the next morning much.

Funny stuff

I bet it would work. Some of these guys come up with some funny stuff you just have to laugh at. Beats the heck out of the threads that turn ugly. I live in Alaska and I'm sticking my 9' table in the end of my 28x36 foot garage that has a 10' ceiling and in floor heat. I will have a dehumidifier in there due to melting snow that falls off the vehicles, which will be an on going issue for 4 months a year. If humidity is still an issue for me I might put a really small wood stove in there for a dry heat source. Can't beat a wood stove for the dry heat and smell if that is an option for you. About any wood stove heats up fast and will keep logs for a few hours on low.
