Hey Everybody,

As a longtime lurker and fairly infrequent poster to this newsgroup, I would like to say hello to all of you that I see frequenting this site. Although I have not posted regularly, I have followed everything for the last 6 months or so very closely since I have discovered the webpage. While there has obviously been some controversy an such, this seems to be a fairly pleasant place for people to discuss the world of pool and all things related...and I don't even have to kill-file people that post with multiple aliases and flame the cr@p out of one another :-)

I would like to say thank you to all of you who have posted various strategic insights and thoughts. I have just recently (roughly 4 months ago) re-entered the world of pool after not really playing at all for about 8 years. I played a lot as a high-school student, but really didn't pay any attention to learning the "ins-and outs" of various games, as I primarily banged the balls around and such. Hell, I didn't even know such games as banks and one-pocket existed until a few months ago. Since I have started playing again, my game has steadily improved, and I owe quite a bit of it to the things I have picked up by following the posts on this site.

I feel like I have really learned a lot by reading through the posts here and gaining knowledge from all of the resident experienced players. I look forward to learning more and becoming a more avid participant in the discussions. I sincerely appreciate the thought that many of you put into your discourse about various pool-related topics, and I just wanted to let you know how I (and likely many others) feel. Keep up the good work!!!

EDITED: By the way, if any of you are in (or are going to be in) the Lansing, MI area, let me know...I'd love to knock them around a bit with an AZer!
Sincerely,

Dustin Jundt

P.S. By the way, I noticed a number of players here from South Dakota. As a born-and-rasied South Dakotan (Mobridge), I'd love to talk to any of you about anything pool (or otherwise) related.

P.P.S. To Mike Page, I have one thing to say...Sioux Suck!!!!...As an NDSU alum, I simply cannot resist.

Bump

I just wanted to bump this up because I posted it during the forum change-over and I wanted to make sure that all of the hardcore AZBers saw it.

Welcome ...

Dustin. The more the merrier.
BTW, are you having that 'coating' problem with your
Fury J/B shaft that was in another thread?

Hello Dustin,

Glad you're here. It must be pretty cold about this time of the year where you are! Just rain here in Seattle. :p

THanks everyone.

BYW, I have had the same problem with the shaft coating on my Fury J/B. I took some 800 grit after it and it seemed to knock it down for a while, but the coating is quite thick and I don't think I got all the way through. So, I sanded it down again with some 600 grit and it seems to have taken care of the problem.

Linda, it's certainly no tropical paradise here, but we make up for it by being one of the cloudiest cities in the country (Right behind Seattle I think) :)
