Hi,

I've been playing snooker and percussion with my grandpa, but I have never owned anything nice aside from my unique burgundy Cuetec.

Today I decided to buy a couple of things, but I need your opinion on these items please.

1. Play cue: Predator shaft 314-2

2. Butt: Lucasi L-EWR or Schon BW7

3. Break Cue: Predator BK2LW or Mezz PowerBreak Pro

4. Case: Predator Racing white or Black 3x5 or Instroke DO3 Saddle 3x5

I like the Predators and Lucasi in terms of look that matches my style, but I don't want to sacrifice quality either.

Thanks!

Hi !

Hi , & WELCOME to the forum.

I have no experience with Lucasi cues, sorry What I can say is that I know a few ppl that play them and they all seem quite happy with them. (Matter of fact I played 1 guy in match play just the other night) He has a very elegant cue.

As far as break cues go well you can't go wrong with a Mezz or Predator break cue. (IMO)

If you ask which is better, I'm afraid you are probably going to get the "Ford vs. Chevrolet" arguement here !

The regular welcome guy usually greets newbs, but he's on holiday. He gives T-shirts and tours to interesting places,............... I just have grocery coupons. :frown::p

For a production cue, I have always felt Lucasi to be a solid buy. HOWEVER, the next time you look to buy a new cue, look up on of the cuemakers on here and get a custom made sneaky pete for the same money, maybe even less. You won't be disappointed with the hit of a custom cue versus factory made....

Think of it like Grandma's cookies... sure grocery store cookies are good, but nothing beats grandma's homemade cookies...

HI again,

Thanks! Wait... as a newb I get T-shirts and tours??? 0.o

About my selections, the Mezz and Schons are more expensive of course and I don't think it's smart to spend extra money when all I'm paying for is the name. So just wondering about that.

I think I'm set on the Predator cases, question is... black or white? I'm just afraid the white will become dirty and impossible to clean and eventually look... dirty.

Cuemakers? Do you have a link?

Brent Summers is on my pages friends. He is a new cuemaker (making cues for year and half or so ) and receiving excellent reviews. He is making me one now as we speak.

Other than that, post in forum for cuemakers and get some quotes. Might be surprised... Good luck

I just bought a black predator case and I like it but for what it cost I wish I would have looked at the Wynn cases at the billiard warehouse. They make a beautiful hand tooled case for about the same money

Is it the 3x5 black limited edition with the silver collar on the top and bottom?

Yep, that's it. I gave 195$ for mine but it's a cool case
Actually my daughter bought it for me in April

I'm kinda torn between the black and white one... what do you think?
I'm just afraid that the white one will become permanently dirty after a while.
