Does anyone know what model and year Sampaio cue this is, and what the value might be? It is marked Sampaio and Made In Portugal. Thanks.

I think that cue is "The Princess" I am no expert but in that shape I would guess less then $100. Sampaio made many different ornate cues back in the 60's and this model was one of the entry level cues.

Thanks for answering. I just looked up the Princess model, and it seems that the Princess has an "intricate floral design" which this cue doesn't have. Any other thoughts?

The cue is "The Duke". The model was introduced in 1964. In it's condition, which I judge at around 65% to 70% of new, it could be worth maybe no more than $225 according to the Blue Book. But I would think maybe a bit less than that.

If it were in very good condition I would cut the Blue Book value in half unless you find the right buyer. The market is weak generally the Sampaios don't bring near Blue Book.

In the current condition? Well......I hate talking values.....less than a hundred was already stated.....I'll support that.

BTW the bumper looks deformed by age. It would be harder to get one of those bumpers than it would be to get an original Huebler bumper....LOL! And you can't make a Sampaio bumper in a lathe....

Sorry I think I looked on the wrong side of the line last night:embarrassed2: The only difference between your cue and "The Duke'' is the color of the butt cap and Sampaio changed those back and forth.
I have several in my collection but always find deals on Ebay. My last find was "The Astro" it is a heavily carved butt and I got it for under a c-note.

Yours is a cool old cue no matter what the value and if it is straight it would be fun to restore it.
