why do some photos appear? and some you have to click on?
When you insert a single photo, it will appear.
When multiple photos are inserted, the link will appear.
Most folks insert photos thru a photo hosting site (e.g. photo bucket) to insert multiple photos by linking them into the thread.
I have added the link in the event you have interest in signing up.

A quick answer that I hope helps you.

BTW, I am enjoying a cue of yours.
Very nice work and solid play.
It is a simple 4-pointer ebony cue with 4-veneers (made in 2004 and that is off the pin).

Will be looking forward to having a personal custom in a Szamboti style with some Showman accents one day...

thanks and thanks

Too much thread in the pin for Fry, Balabushka would be a great choice, too, but the same situation. I'm thinking something real tricky, Rutzisky or Blatt...

It strikes me as odd that this cue would have brass rings and shoulderless steel inserts and a steel or nickel looking joint and pin.

I can't tell if the joint is nickel, brass, or stainless. What is it? Is the wrap dacron or linen?

Visually, this cue has a lot of clues from the 1963 - 1970 time period. I am not so sure about New York. It looks like a bad copy of a Balabushka. I would cut off the wrap and see if there was any writing.

the screw is brass and also the joint and rings. the wrap is leather.

I am a little baffled. If I knew the time the cue was made, I might be able to guess.

The joint parts, rings, and thin steel shoulderless inserts with a brass screw and long shaft tenons are identical to a cue I have that was an old National Cue made in 1968 by Helmstetter. This was when they had their custom operation going in Chicago. Of course, these parts were used by many makers at the time because they were commonly available from suppliers.

Except, the combination of brass screw and steel insert is odd, which is the only clue I have here. Maybe this is an early Helmstetter custom, or made by someone who influenced his parts selection.

It is not a Bushka

I wish I could tell you more. The weight bolt is wrong and the pin is wrong. Also the veneers finish in the wrong place at the wrap if you are lucky it is a helmstetter his old cues were the best.
