That joint collar is interesting.

I believe we have seen that material on old Brunswick cues, and I have seen it on old Luscher cues. I have an example of such a Luscher from about 1950.

The plot thickens.

I have never seen a Sampaio with such a joint collar. But very old Sampaio cues might. But so could others.

If the cue has been reworked we'll probably never figure it out, I am going forward with the assumption that we are looking at original features, and that the cue is perhaps from the 1940's. The stainless pin (looks stainless) tends to be more modern, many of that era were brass, but stainless does not rule that era out.

I am thinking very likely US made, but not for sure. Not Brunswick (not one from their catalogs anyway) but maybe Luscher, Oliver Briggs, Katz, Rieper, Victor or something like that.

Anybody have examples of any of those brands of cue for comparison? As I said, my Luscher has that material for the joint collar, but it has a pointed brass 14 pin. This one the OP has looks stainless.

I have a Victor, a Brunswick, a Luscher, and a possible Briggs. I do not have a Katz. Only my Luscher has that joint collar.
