This cue belongs to a friend of mine. He has had the cue since about 1986. Ernie Gutierrez (ginacue) rewrapped and refinished the cue sometime along the way.
My friend is unsure who the original maker was but thinks it was most likely a Southern California cuemaker of that era.
Can anyone help with this? I only had it in my hands a few minutes for the pics and realize I may need to provide some additional photos. You will notice one of the points has a mistake in the veneers, something I am told was not uncommon among the old Hoppe Titlist house cues. I missed a good shot of the very bottom of the butt (above the bumper) which I think had a sort of scalloped (crownlike) shape. The ferrules are ivory and I believe Ernie also made at least one of the shafts. All 4 suits are represented on the butt.
Thanks for any help,
Joe
