This cue was part of a multi-cue deal that I was involved in. At the time of the transaction I had the name of the cue maker and it all checked out...Since then I lost the paper work and the cue has no signature...can anyone out there give me some help... The deal was for a Gina Cue and I took a Richard Black ,Schoen and Predator along with this cue and some high quality shafts...the guy I was dealing with was reputable and this cue is SUPER Solid

Is there a reason why you started another thread referring to the same cue In your other posting?

.........good pics of joint and under bumper would help as stated in your post yesterday looking for ID

I would guess Joss West. Will Prout posted some of his Joss Wests. In his pictures, the third cue from the left, the linked diamond rings in the butt and above the wrap look pretty similar to yours. The honey colored stain, rounded points, and the dashed rings at the joint would support the possibility.

For some reason, the link is not opening to the post from Will. It does get you to the right page. Scroll down to posts #38 & 39 and you’ll see the cue I mentioned.

Put me on a beeline to post 38.

Add that to your resume!

Actually I see some Ivory Jointed cues in the pictures...I think you are correct.. I played with the Gina for 40 plus years and have been around custom cues longer than that...this is a VERY well made and incredibly solid playing cue...it has to be one of his...

......now pop that rubber bumper off and take a few pics when you have a minute. Nice looking cue (y)

The rings look like Gina but the pin and bumper do not. FWIW, neither does the JP.

Also, can't tell but it does not appear the wrap has the usual indented double rings Ernie puts on his leather wraps. Very possibly a Bill Stroud.

Do you know if he built cues with Ivory Joints....also would there be any way to identify it for certain?
Bill invented the radial joint pin. A lot of cuemakers use them, too. So it is not a signature component. But it is still consistent with Joss West.

Typically, Bill stamped an identifier on his butt caps. Perhaps the original owner didn’t want that or maybe the butt cap was replaced.

I never seen JOSS WEST WITH SOLID IVORY JOINT LIKE YOUR CUE HAS...
ALSO,
Bills radial pin has a different appearance than yours.
Bill used a ivory joint-very thin-walled Ivory sleeve, over a thin black phenolic ring , then wood, then the joint pin....
"maybe send your pics to Chad McClennan- CAM CUES IN OKLAHOMA...
I have seen Cams cues with that style rings, and joint pin too"

thanks for the help...I pklayed with a Gina that I had made by Earnie in 1973....this fir sure is not made by him as the person trading the cues to me desperately wanted a Gine...At this point my recollection is that it was a Joss West....
