help IDing cues

one of the guys from my pool team asked me about these cues.

he has been told the the one with the checked handle is an older brunswick, but i can't see any marks on it...

the one with the three part, carved handle appears to be significantly newer, and i would guess it's an import. the only odd thing is that they have the same brass joint.

thoughts?

They look like Championship cues from the mid to late 70's, here is a picture of mine, It was a christmas gift in 1974, the cues with the weight rings were very common, I use to see them a K-Mart.

Both are imports that were sold under various brand names.

The one with the "checked" handle may in fact have been Brunswick branded. Neither is worth much in playing value or monetary terms but can hold a great deal of sentimental value.

It is not unlikely they were bought at K-Mart as was stated, but they could just have easily been bought at any number of places including pool/billiard catalogs or showrooms.
