Im fairly new to pool , Ive only been playing about a year and only untill the last few months have I been playing on a regular basis. Ive made dramatic improvements in a short amount of time.
Im looking for an experienced player or pro to take some lessons from. I feel like I need alot of help with shot selection and all the technical side of pool rather than just going off of feel.

Anyone have any leads on a good instructor in the Houston area ?

I would contact Sylver Ochoa if I were you. He would be a great person to learn about shot selection and the other aspects of the game from.

I would get in contact with Put_upor_shut_up on AZ. He will teach you how to make money with your current skill level.

this is everything that's wrong with American pool summed up in a single sentence...

to the OP at your level mechanics are everything get a good coach who will film your stroke and watch it with you....

get your mechanics as flawless as you can.. THEN go find a Pro player for help with patterns. his patterns can't help you if you can't execute the shots

Thanks for a replies everyone !

I actually played in a little weekly tournament at Bogies in which Sylver Ochoa was in and I really enjoyed being able to watch him play. My buddy who played him didnt enjoy it to much though

I have recorded myself playing on a home table but I dont really know what Im looking for or how my mechanics should be.

I will do some searching for a local instructor who can help me with the basics for now.

Playing in another weekly tourny tonight so we shall see if I can actually beat someone this time !
