Help! Joint ID

Have a beautiful cue made in the Philippines but as usual the shaft warped within a year. The butt rolls straight. It has a 3/8 quick release joint and looks like a the Predator quick release but the Predator shaft will not fit down over the center piece. Want to add a low deflection shaft but do not know which joint that will fit. Anyone help?

Looks like a unilock to me. Take some googone on a qtip and clean it out and try again. Any little bit of dirt in that stupid joint messes it up.
 
Predator shaft too narrow to reach threads. Goes to about 1/4 inch above threads.
 
To me that looks similar to an "accu-loc" joint. In that case it is basically a cuetec thread but in quick release form. Some cues found in Spain (China imports -- buffalo, low-end universal, etc.) have that joint.
 
Looks like I will not be able to buy new shaft. Anyone else recognize this joint?
 
Perhaps you can buy a Partial , send that and your old shaft for the joint parts to a cuebuilder ?
 
Slight roll in shaft by itself and with butt. This seems to be the way these shafts go. Will probably get worse. Had 2 other shafts from same maker do the same thing but was able to replace because they had 5/16x18 joints. Should not have gotten this joint in hindsight.
 
I was gonna build a jump handle for my buddies cheap Chinese-made jump break. Just cause I wanted to get in a little 'lathe time'.

I went all over hell with his shaft. I could NOT find any bolt or threaded rod anywhere that would fit his shaft. I tried SAE. I tried Metric. I tried every pin we had at my local cue maker. I tried EVERYTHING. Nothing fit this particular shaft.

I don't why anyone anywhere would develop a unique thread just for a pool cue, but ..... They do.
 
Looking in to possible modification of joint by grinding down part that inserts into shaft and hope to find a matching thread.
