what do you guys think of wenge wood for complete cue butt, I just finnished putting pins(3/8-10 )vs bacote, east indian rose wood, there wood to wood.harvey martin style. I just finnished playing (27 straight hrs) with a flinstons oversized butt, just brass, and stainless pins. I put b-model mcdermott shafts on several, (who needs anything else- on a 5-10 snooker table playing,one-pocket and snooker and full rack banks. the hit is hard but accurate as all getout, they have high pitched tones very very solid. thanks in advance for help. kiln dried I wonder if its worth balancing, tapering etc. over sized the hit is unbeliveable, mark

is the solid hit from wood selection? How do I keep the playing charastistic

Sorry was tired and very excited. I understand the wood wenge to be like ebony, but lighter. I made clubs we'll call them(cue butts) with different woods and pins,(3/8-10. their over sized now ,like a club- but butt plays unbelievable solid, has crisp hit,it's light for being oversized. How do I keep the hit and feel? and turn it down to 8.43-1.25 ? (taper) I have old mcdermott shafts from the b-model cue line, I use for shafts. the cue butt is 31" now and the cue balances ,about 20 inches from the end. when I turn the butt down and shorten it a couple inches to match the 29 inch shaft lenght, will a stainless collar return the cue to the same balnce it has now -club size. thanks here's more I made a long cue butt for snooker like this (club butt) It was very solid too,it got sanded down and lost this same type of playing characterists. do I need a stainless collar there too? that shaft is 31, and the bacote butt is 29-3/4. I kind of understand how the scale works weighting the shaft, the bumper, stainless collars. mark thanks again I 'll wait and watch and listen
