Help with a pin ID

Would someone mind helping me ID this pin? My guess is some sort of 5/16x14 quick release joint as I can thread my Joss shafts down to a the none threaded section of the pin with no issues as all.

This is on a Dufferin two piece cue...was this a common joint for Dufferin or does this look like someone did a conversion on this cue? The butt is 29" and the shaft it 28".

Quick shot of the pin from the side:

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

How to NOT ship a cue

BTW...this cue was EBAY roulette through and through

Gotta love the packaging the guy mailed it to me in. This box had all the structural integrity of a house of cards...absolutely shocked the cue had no damage:

I can't tell you how much protection newspaper offers for cue...as it wrapped the cue inside the box, but there was NOTHING else in the box. Just the butt and shaft wrapped in newspaper! No packing material whatsoever!

But it somehow survived!

I have an original shaft blank from Dufferin if you are interested in a second shaft.
Email me if you are interested.

Thanks

Just mike the pin where there is no threads and counter-sink the insert with a drill the depth of the length of no threads to adapt another shaft.

That looks like the original 5/16x14 pin that Dufferin used in their Glider joints.

So this is referred to as a "glider joint"? I was thinking it was some sort quick release version 5/16x14.

Lee had an old Dufferin blank in his shop with this thread already installed so I'm having him turn it down and made to my specs. Thanks Lee!

Thanks!
