Help with Adjusting game from home table to much, much faster league tables

League play is about to start again for a new season.

I've been pleased with my progress on my home table in the off season. But my league plays on some bar tables which are worn and incredibly fast. I find that my position game falls apart completely when playing on these tables.

Any 'magic bullets' for adjusting my game other than the obvious 'shoot very softly'?

absolutely not

hit the ob ball fuller, when possible, and the cue ball will be slower without having to shoot softly

Moving the grip hand forward and shortening your stroke is another option. I call it bunting and playing almost always on nine foot tables I find the easiest way to adjust to seven footers is to bunt. I humbled a short track specialist with my cue ball control, finishing the session with a couple games playing one and hide. That was eight ball so I was hiding the cue ball most thoroughly.

Play better angles into the next ball.

Big table- bigger angle(less full hit on ob). To move the cb with ease.
Bar table is opposite.

Stay more towards the middle of the cb rather than using the outer edges.

Pay attention to what's happening. Pick your ideal landing spot, play the shot. Observe. Repeat. Your brain will pick it up from there. Just be intentional.

If it's fast and worn/dirty that makes for a strange combo. Do not count on english, especially draw or stun. Roll the cueball everywhere. You can use some draw but you want it to wear off just before it hits the OB so the CB will roll naturally. A slow rolling CB is the key.

That's pretty much it. Our league nights are on similar conditions, your stroke has to be pretty pure to get draw and if you use it you might as well not try finesse draw. Aim to draw the ball half a table length or don't even use it. You really have to float the CB to get it to take. You're much better off just rolling the ball naturally on worn cloth.

Also, since it's fast you don't have to piss pound it. Just roll it and come off the cushions for shape. Don't rush your back swing because any errors get magnified with worn/dirty cloth.

One last thing, if you must use stun, hit it hard because the worn/dirty cloth will scrub any stun or draw off of the ball if you don't. But yeah, just roll the CB naturally and don't try to get fancy like you would on new/clean cloth.
