Does anyone recognize any of these cues?

All I know is that they have been used in the 70's.

The cues with the dots and red bumpers I believe are Hollie's? From France. The ebony cue with the MOP wedge on the bottom is the winner in this pic. A pic of the joint area and points are needed though.

Thank you so much for your answer. I am trying to get more pictures. I have been asked to make a bid on the cues, but that is quite hard without knowing more. I don't want just to make a low ball offer neither. The pool community in Norway is small, and I don't think it is fair. Unfortunately the cues are to far away from me to be seen in person. The owner has accepted that I use the pictures to get more information, and I have requested more pics.

Very likely European.

Hollie is possible on a couple of them I guess. Belgian and German origins are also possibilities as well as Portugal and a couple other places.

I am guessing Belgium and/or Germany first.

Have a look here:

By the way, very pristine examples sell for surprisingly little money on Ebay. I missed one recently that I intended to buy...I just forgot about it and could kick myself. It was a very nice one...and pristine. I wouldn't bid a lot on these unless you can demonstrate one or two of them are particularly desirable for some reason.

Thanks for your wise reply and links. I am not sure if this question is in the right section or maybe the reason for lack of response is that there are not that many Europeans reading this forum or section of forum.

Anyway I am much closer - I didn't even think they where made in Europe, but where imports from Asia. To be honest I am very limited knowledge of older european cue makers.

I am still waiting for more pics.

I think the reason we don't see a lot of response is the same reason the prices tend to be low. Not a lot of interest.

Realize the this is the cue makers forum. The main forum or the gallery is generally better for cue identification, but not always. Sometimes here is better...especially if it's a US maker I think.

The more obscure and or unusual cues tend to get identified better by collectors I think...again, not always.

With cues like this, it never hurts to ask whoever is available. I am endlessly surprised and the knowledge that people have about such things.

Wow, cool site. And people thought Kamui, Predator, Blue Diamond was the chalk to have. This chalk gives em all the 7 out. Why? Cause it says so right on the box haha.

Lol, not sure whether it fulfills the requirements of nowadays marketing laws in Europe - anyway I'll buy a gross. Best offer per pm please:-)

I almost bought some chalk made in Peru. My dad is from Lima Peru.

There is a lot of pool/billiard stuff out there that is not "mainstream" that you will find if you broaden the horizons a bit. Some of it is really cool and really very surprising.

One of my students is from Costa Rica. She is working on getting her US medical credentials. Her father plays pool and I send a package with her for her father that included chalk, tips, and some other small items for playing and cue maintenance. He was so thrilled with it. It's very cool to make connections around the world in the sport.
