help with info about Mali cue with 3/8x10 joint pin.

I am curious if anyone know any information about my Mali cue (like the model number, year it was made, and original retail value).

I am guessing that the cue is not worth much money, but it really feels, and appears to be a very well made good quality cue.

I am also in need of a rubber bumper for the cue (if anyone knows where I can find one).

I am mostly curious about when the cue was made (an exact year is not needed, because I am sure that the model was probably made for many years).

Thanks for any help about the cue.

Good morning Justin,

I have 2 brochures (1 in-hand and 1 digital copy) of 2 different years of cues called Classic Series and Classic Spectrum Series. Spectrum is from 93/94 and the Classic Series (attached) is from the set prior to the Spectrum (guessing 92/93.) Couple of differences from yours which makes yours an earlier set IMO. The ones attached are 5/16x14 and yours has the white buttcap. However, the silver Mali logo is the same and that will date yours to very late 80s, very early 90s.

You will notice yours also sports the white center joint vs. the Stainless of the Classics and the black of the Classic Spectrum. Definately late 80s cue IMO, say 89/90. Could possibly be a 91, but I dont have a brochure for those years (I am in constant search of any Mali Brochures, grin.)

Nice cue. The bumper replacement will be the tougher part (finding an original.) I had Joe Blackburn replace one of mine (similar to yours.) It was not original but did the job and looked good. He is in Vegas right now but can be reached on his cell phone at 615.498.4437.

No values were on either of the brochures. The ones I have seen going on the bay have been sub $100. Sorry I don't have more precise info.

I am curious is all of the inlays are real? If it is American made, and the inlays are all real, than I am curious why these Mali cues have hardly any value? They rarely ever sell for over $100, and I have seen Lucasi cues (which are Asian imports) sell for much more, so that makes no sense to me. I never thought much about Mali cues in the past, but I recently learned that they were American made (before 2001). Were they just very cheaply made cues (similar to the American made Schmelke cues)? Thanks.

Those inlays are a plastic resin that was filled into a plastic frame and cured. I worked there until I joined the USMC in the 90's
