Help with info about McDermott Super Mac pool cue case, with extension for longer cues?

I just purchased this case, that looks interesting to me.

The condition does not look very good, but I just thought it looked really interesting, and cool.

I like the look of Fellini style cue cases.

It appears to have an extension that slides on to it, before putting the top cover on.

These are not my pictures, and I do not have the case yet.

It comes with some really cheap looking cue.

These are the only pictures that I currently have though.

The seller told me that the case is 38" inches long.

Just curious if anyone here knows any info about the case?

Just seems really unusual, but maybe they offered an extension, so that longer cues could fit in the case. I do not know..

I probably should gave waited until I received it, begire asking about it, because this pictures are not very good.

Thanks for any thoughts, or info.

Thanks a lot for the info.
No worries.

I have several Super Mac cases in my collection, but not one of those yet.

I also have an extremely early version with the swing tab latch, painted steel not covered in vinyl or leather. I am told it was a prototype, but not sure about that. Never had a cue in it.

That's a cool case. They don't come up too often. I don't think they were hot sellers because of the length.

I assumed that you coukd just leave that part off, and put the cover on without that accesory part.

Lol, I thought it was an extension, for super long cues.

Any idea who made these cases? Surely not McDermott, right?

Thanks.

I have no idea who made them.

It's possible McDermott did actually, but I don't know. They are very well made cases. But as you can see with yours, often well used as well.

They made tube cases in both steel and plastic. I always thought the steel cases were spectacular just because they are built like a tank, but they are heavy, which I think many did not like.
