Help with info on Biagio cue? Made by Joss possibly?

Yes, KPS Taiwan became Falcon (Ernie Chen was founder). These same blanks were also used by Palmer in the 1980's.

Falcon gave me a deal on some low priced cues ( retail $200 ) if I bought 24...
...they weren't made in Canada....I threw three of them away.
there is a lot of locally made Falcons that still play good.

I think the Brunswick cues you had were made by Falcon....I've had both.
Unmarked, some models of Brunswick and Falcon are hard to tell apart...Dan Janes had a lot to do with setting up Falcon...the parts intermix.

Dufferin of Canada also made a lot of Brunswick cues...I still have a couple.

I see a Brunswick by Falcon every week...I sold it to a friend.

The older Falcon cues (from the 90's for example) were really nice players. I loved the way they hit, maybe even more then most of the Joss cues I had over the years. Falcon cues were great cues. I heard they moved the cue company to China (not sure when).

I have owned 3 Biagio Cues. My first one was clearly a much higher quality than the the others. Featured Brazilian Rosewood forearm, butt sleeve with 3/8 x10 pin,SS half joint with woven phenolic collars and rings. Also it had a killer super tight grain shaft with old Micarta ferrule. From the build, I believe this cue was made in England BCE ? by real craftsmen in the late 70's early 80's.

The other 2 I have owned were veneered 4 pointers with 5/16x18 pins and were nice but not the same overall quality as the big pin model. I believe they were later production models ( late 80's early 90's) were made in Taiwan and looked much like the one on eBay you posted even though it has a 'Made in England' sticker on it. It might have been 'finished up' in England with Taiwan blanks, joints etc.

Just my take,

-Kat,

Here is one I own presently. Dan Janes verified he only made 10 of them with 4 veneers and the MOP in the aces. It plays as good as my Runde Era Schon IMHO. It's going back to Joss to be refinished soon.

I will have this cue forever. I have the original shaft but I use my original 314 on it.

I love the cue. I think I have only seen one before.

That's a keeper for sure.

If I were you I would have a second shaft made for it when it gets refinished.

EDIT: In fact I think I saw that cue on AZB before. Did you buy it from somebody here? I could swear I have seen that broken butt cap before.

I posted pics of it 10 years when I first bought it. I don't have access to my old account any longer.

It will be getting a second shaft as well. I was pondering having the Biagio removed when refinished by I think that will ruin the history and questions behind the cue.

i believe if a cue was made by joss for biagio, joss is prominently shown on the butt of cue. I think the ebay cues are way overpriced, also.

x2 x2

check out the archives at crystal leisure. biagio cues is on of their brands.
