Help with Pete Omen cue

I bought a nice snake wood and ebony cue from Pete Omen around 2000 or 2001. I got out of playing pool several years ago, so this has been sitting in my safe all these years. I got back in to shooting recently, and I wanted to use this cue. But it seems the shafts have dried out with a little shrinkage. One shaft screws on fairly well, just a little "tightness". The other shaft will only go on about 3/4 of the way and the threads are too tight to get it all the way on. I tried finding Pete online, but it seems he's out of the business now. So I'm looking for advice on how to fix the shafts. I believe it's a 3/8 - 11 thread, but I'm not certain. I'll attach a photo. If anyone knows for sure what the thread is, and can I buy a tap and run it down the threads, do you think that will open them back up?

There's alot of variances in the threads of on 3/8 × 11versus another. Recommend having an experienced cuemaker retap it so they can use the correct tap.
Thanks SBC, the only somewhat local cuemaker near me is Bob Dzuricky. I'll message him and see if he's interested in looking it for me. I own a couple of his cues also.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Bob has the correct tap for this. But even if he doesn't I'm sure he could plug and rethread it with live tooling. Bob's work is incredible and if you haven't checked out his cue making videos on YouTube, I highly recommend it.
