Help with source DB LE

I'm another "newbie" to cue making. I"ve been a player for years and now want to try my hand at the art of cue making. I have watched this forum for a couple of years now and have learned a lot from many of your posts.

Now, I know how sourcing on wood is an issue, so I wont go there, but I do hope some of you would not mind providing a good source for your DB Le for joint/shaft rings and butt cap material.

I also am interested in thoughts on ferrule materials. I know a lot has been written on this issue but some update would be nice on newer materials and what your choice would be for someone starting out.

I have a lot going on in setting up my shop, lathe and other &%#$, building my CNC etc, etc. you all know the routine. Sourcing materials is a major time consuming task and not having dealt with some of these vendors is an Unknown in quality of service and parts. Any parts info you might have for "another Newbie" is greatly appreciated. Please feel free to PM or answer here.

Sorry for the long post
Thanks

Check your pm's. Atlas fibre has the double black, They went thru some varying material after NVF was sold and they had to use a diffrent source. As far as I know they have worked out those problems now. I havent bought any in nearly 2 years so I can't speak to the current materials quality.

I don't think they were buying much from NVF. That is where I was buying from for some time. K. Sexton is who I used to deal with as she was in charge of dealing with cue makers. I asked her once if Atlas was getting their phenolics from them as they looked different and she told me that they occasionally did when their regular supplier was having troubles or something but not regularly. It sure broke my heart when NVF sold out and the new company discontinued some products and made the minimum orders so high on others.

I placed an order with them a few months back and they were terrible to deal with, The sample looked real good. I spent several grand and the first shipment was grey! I called and finaly ended up dealing with someone in shipping and recieving to get my order straight. It just wasen't worth the hassle, I will likely just buy from atlas next time. Chris.

Correct The company that bought nvf
I didn't know they were the ones who bought NVF. If I had known that I would not have used them as I already knew the guys who bought them out could not make the stuff right. But they had been making quality stuff before NVF sold out. Makes you wonder if that company woulnd up with all new people also. I am fairly happy with the weave and content but not thrilled with the color in what I bought. But then again I had to pay double what you did and it still was not Jet Black.
