sorry Jen. :} ...have fun in DR... It will be so much warmer there than it is here in New York. by the way are you paying for that room you were talking about?...haha..

looool.

carol, even if its colder in NY it doesnt seem to affect your posts ;)

ive got an idea. come to belgium, play the womans championship here, win MUCH money (NOT), and get yourself a room in a 5 ***** hotel . Or make that a big room, so Jenn can make some promotion in europe. im sure she'd inspire alot of female players to play too and she could give me a signed 9ball. :p

I've been trying to help this poor woman learn to drink water. Now she wants to learn pool. I'm turning her over to you guys! ;)

To me it seems you should run your cue higher up on your body, like closer to the shoulder...

EDIT: To Hunter...she might have a problem no matter what...LOLz

I was checking out Alison F. and her cue is higher up. I might play around with that and see how it works.

Hunter...I would advise her to take up swimming instead.

Let us know how the new stands works Jenn. ill try to post a picture of my girlsfriends stands. it really is working off. after 2 weeks of training it think its as good as it can get. really happy with it. ur probably the best person to judge her position so hope u can tell me what u think of it.

ps: swimming? she cant make armmovements with those in front of her. she'd be floating in the best case, but dont think she'll swim very far :D

Breasts Are Not Alwys A Female Problem

I Have A Male Friend Who Has The Same Issue As He Has Huge Breasts Or Pecs I Guess As Well As Other Insecurities. Ladies, You Are Not Alone With This Issue.

Far be it for me to critique the stroke of someone of your caliber, Jennifer.

But, in this picture you look well out of alignment with your stroke. Regardless of being jacked up on a rail, feet or breasts, I don't see this being an accurate way to aim...

Your shoulder is cocked behind you and you have your bicept flopped well behind you so you have to compensate by piviting through your wrist rather than just your elbow.

Wondering if you were just setting up on that shot and were still adjusting or if this is your normal stroke in general?

Thanks...

-Jedi

Actually, I have seen numerous pictures of you shooting and that "Cocked behind the head" forearm is your normal stroke.

Honestly, I would think your aim and stroke would increase by 100% if you straightened that arm out and got it as plum as it should be.

I don't know......looks to me like Jenn has a nice steady brest...uh I mean steady rest there!:D (J/K Jenn)
Seriously, Jenn looks like she uses more of a 45 degree angle stance in that pic. I've seen Karen and Allison go to that stance occasionally too. It probably depends on the shot and table angle.

Terry< Can't wait to hear Jenns explaination!:D :p :)

I'm assuming it is because Jenn is so close to the rail that she is jacking up more. And because she is only a little'en she holds the cue alot further down than most players. Therefore would have to raise up a lot more to keep that 45 degree angle.

probably barking up the wrong tree!

So she either had to compensate and angle her backarm slightly or stand on her tip toes to raise the butt... I know which I would rather do!

Take a look at the old masters of the game. They all stood up tall. When you bend over you loose the angle. That's why you check out the shot standing up. Why loose what you just saw.

These are pictures from last year. I have actually straightened my arm out since then, but when I have to jack up it will sometimes creep behind my head again.

As far as the masters playing upright you are 100% right, but remember, they were playing straight pool. The shots are generally much longer in 9 ball which is why most 9 ball players have adopted the 'chin on the cue' snooker style.

Jenn I'll agree that shorter shots don't require the same view but I thought we were talking about overcoming body parts being in the way and in an effort to acieive consistancy don't we want players to achieve consistant, sound fundamentals? This isn't about what's right or wrong but a possible solution to the issue without having surgery. If you look at Minnesota Fats he stood almost straight up. Even though he wasn't as great of a player as he professed, I saw him run multiple racks of one pocket as well as banks and 9 ball on several occasions. That level of play is probably better than most peoples wildest dream. I only bring him up as he is an extreme case regarding a stance. Anyway large women should be allowed to play well too.

I believe there is a reason that you won't find any of todays great 9 ball players standing upright. Standing upright is certainly one solution, but I see great players, regardless of breast or body size, with their chin on the cue in perfect alignment.
