Last time I had that problem, it turned out I was using a one-piece cue.

Wrap a couple rubber bands on both the shaft and the butt. With somebody's help, use two hands on each and it should un-screw.

or

I had this problem to, and someone showed me to tap the cue on the floor, just grab it with one hand a few inches above the but and hit few times on the floor and thats that.

The best thing to do is just let it sit for a couple of minutes and then it should come apart no problem'

Is it a Uni Loc quick release pin?
Spray a silicone lubricant down the insert of the shaft.
Turn it over (tip to the floor) and let the silicone settle in for a few hours.
Then try unjoining it.

This happened to me one time with a fairly new cue, Uni-loc joint. We had to get 2 strong men on the butt, one man on the shaft, and twisted as hard as we could - it worked, but there must be a better way. By the way, in the next year and a half of use, it never happened again. Our theory is that there must have been some foreign body caught/wedged in the threads. We had to put so much torque into the removal that I was fearful of damaging the cue.

throw burning water on the joints, then sell it.

What is this burning water you speak of? I was not aware that water could be burnt, or be in the process of getting burnt, ie. burning. You must have some pretty dirty water in New York.

Silencer would sell all his cues except his precious Mali... "my preciouzzz" :p

If I can't unscrew the cue, I just tap the joint with the palm of my hand a couple of times and usually all cues will open with this method.
