Rambow

Classic Rambow. Do you know the approximate age? Who wrote the LOA? I want to get the LOA's on my Rambow cues someday. I've spoken to Deano Andrews and Paul Rubino. I held off becasue I'm not selling them any time soon, Check out this chalk

Great now we will need a chalk review section...lol Nice chalk can it do any tricks or just sit there?

You lucky guy !!

Nick,

Love your new Rambow. I've owned two in my life time, one I got from Herman when he had his shop on Wabash Ave in Chicago. I think I paid $ 60.00 for it. Had my name on it which was cool. Just had one shaft. That was my player during the sixties :)

I was a kid at the time didn't even have a case for it. Didn't know you needed one.

I definitely have to get another one when the time presents itself.

Congratulations .. Great Cue !!!

Your friend,

Hay everybody!

Mark At PoolTableMagic had this cue for many years in his collection. He wrote the letter. He knows Herman Rambo Cues very well.
This was a well known players cue. He told Mr Mark the cue was rewrapped and restored for him by Gus years ago.
All you have to do is look at the joint and pin and it is easy to see that Gus also did the joint! It made my jaw drop!
This is one sick cue! A Herman Rambo Cue restored and reworked by Gus! It hits like a Gus blank Balabushka. And it even has that ping almost singing when it hits a ball.
I still only play with my Cochran Cue but I had to hit a little with this thing. I picked it up and gave it hell for a few. It liked it. I was tempted to take a couple ounces out of my cue and play with my smaller shaft after hitting with this thing.
But to do that I would have to be a player and I am no player!
I posted more pictures just for you Rikki! And Tommy I see why you want that old Rambo back. Cues Blues Paul Rubino is always a sure bet for a letter that will add value to your cues!
Although I have had some nice offers on this cue I can see it under my table for many moons!
Thanks for lookin and all the kind words.
Nick :)

Now who could possibly not like this cue? Very nice piece of history you've got there!

Actually among collectors chalk is kind of a big deal. I think it's a nice touch to add Rambow or Balabushka chalk along with the sale of the cue as do several other collectors. Just like the cues, the chalk is collectable and quite expensive. The collector books have this chalk at 50-bucks a piece. I read everything I can find about Rambow cues, the people they were made for, etc. The chalk is just another piece of the pie, and could add some value to the cue. It's very hard to find.

I know what you mean I just never realy thought about but I have a few pieces floating around in the safe from all the Antique tables I buy and recover. A friend got me hooked on all the litttle things that slip away.

It would be nice if someone has a big collection of chalk and other trade cards and things to post a share some photo's.
