Hey, All AZers going to Vegas for APA

Post the name of your team. I would like to make a list and try and meet some of y'all. Would be cool for us all to get together at once but match schedules would probably make it impossible. Our team is the "RACKATEERS" out the VFW Post 5226, Robertsdale, AL.

Hey Pel,

This is my first year not going, ugh! Just moved into our new house and our son Josh is starting back to school on the 26th. Just too much on my plate this year. Would have liked the chance to meet you, I see you on several forums and I always like putting faces to screen names.

Maybe you can make it to the Expo this year. I know that Zim is in the process of the details for the get together here. Will miss seeing all of you all! Any questions to newbees fire away! I got the scoop!

I will be there starting on the 19th.
Our team lost in the finals by one game however so I am not in the
team event. I am in the triple play tournament :)
I am looking forward to going this year alot. It will be a good
way to unwind and watch some pool.
My friends have won the triple play every year but one and they got second that year so we will have our hands full trying to take it off.

When do you arrive?

Unfortunately, none of the three teams I was on made it to Vegas, but my friend and I will be playing scoth doubles. Hopefully, we will play well.

We fly in to arrive at noon on the 21st. I figure by the time we pick up baggage, get the rental, and make it to the hotel it will be 2-3pm. Check the board for the 'RACKATEERS' schedule.

Hey maybe Blud can let us leave a note pad or whatever at his booth for contact info on AZers.

My team is "The Untouchables" from the Westgate Pub in Brockton, MA. I'm arriving sometime the morning of the 20th, hey that's Friday woo-hoo.
We're in the 9-ball tournament, if you're in that, see you in the finals. Sorry, but we'll have to beat ya. :)

I'll be out there playing in the pro-artistic pool event. Play begins on Tuesday and continues through Friday. If anyone gets a chance, stop by and check it out.

I was told it started on wed by the APA??
Just want to make sure I am able to catch you guys.
Other info like players and matchups would be good or is this
one of the ones with set shots?

You guys will recognize the Pelican by his beady eyes and predominant beak. Looks a little like this.

This artistic tournament has 40 pre-determined trick shots that everyone shoots. It's almost like a golf tournament, except there is no cut. Everyone shoots all 40 shots and the best score at the end wins.

The APA told you Wednesday and Friday because Tuesday we are shooting the first round in our practice room, due to time and space constraints. We aren't selling tickets for Tuesday since it is a small room, but if you stop by and there is room to let you in, you may be able to get in. There will definately not be a charge for Tuesday.

The flight draw has already been done for Tuesday and Wednesday. Friday's draw will be done based on score (the leaders go last). You can see the flight draw on the IAPA website at http://www.webtechosting.com/iapa.

I hope they have not put you guys in the back forty. :D

I dont care if I have to pay but I would like to see some and see what its all about.

The APA and other pool leagues in general IMO has outgrown the Riv. I know that some other casino's have tried to court the APA and BCA but I am not sure if its working.

I dont want to see it go to a high dollar casino but rather to one the appreciated the fact that so many people come and come multiple times
a year.
I always hate to see the raised room rates and table game minimums when more people are there then they would ahve gotten anyway.

Never the less its a good time and is decently ran. I have not had a problem
in the times I have been either for the APA or the BCA.
