Essentially correct. I wasn't the only one to bet against him that day. He won well over 500, as a few people bet him twice. I didn't. I think I gave him 3-1 against making a field goal, and we had bet 100 on the original bet plus 50 on the second bet. So he beat me for 250, and the other guys for more than that.

It was at the Bakersfield South H.S. football field in 1972 or 73. I was standing under the goal post when he split the wicket. I couldn't believe my eyes.

In high school, one of the freshmen pitchers on the baseball team (I pitched as well) through a ball over the right field fence from home plate (~330 '). Everyone was like "Damn! I can't believe it!" When I walked over to ask what happened, they told me and I was like "OK, big deal" As they started to gather around, I kept telling them that it wasn't hard to do. So, after they all got to believe that noone else could do it, I quietly went to the backstop with a ball, took a crow-hop and threw the ball over the center field fence (~400') and walked away as it went over by about 15-20 feet.

They weren't that amazed about the right field thing anymore.

from the looks of that video,it doesn't seem like Danny spent any of that money on razor blades..My bet is that he went straight to the nearest dog track!!!
